What happens when a page loads?

Vercel hosts the static pages and can process operational request data such as IP address, requested path and browser information in its hosting logs. Platform retention and processing are governed by the hosting service’s practices; this publication does not promise a specific platform-log retention period.

Vercel Web Analytics loads only on selfdirectedgoldira.org and this project’s vercel.app previews, and does not load on local development hosts or /go/ paths. It uses cookieless measurement. Before sending an analytics event, our code removes query strings and fragments from its URL field.

What is recorded when you use a partner link?

The /go/ redirect reads user-agent, accept-language and prefetch headers to skip likely automated traffic. In production, eligible clicks send a go_click event to cookieless Vercel Web Analytics with two labels: partner and placement. The redirect forwards the user agent and IP address to Vercel, as with page-view measurement. Test clicks are excluded. An outgoing click does not tell this website whether you qualify, request information, purchase metal or fund an account.

The redirect also passes affiliate attribution labels to the destination. Those labels identify this publication, the source page and the placement, not your name, email or account details. The receiving company and its tracking service process the resulting request under their own privacy practices.

What happens if you email the publisher?

If you send email, the address, message and any information you include can be processed by the mailbox service and read by the publisher to handle the correspondence. Do not send account numbers, identity documents, tax returns or other sensitive financial records.

Can a photo or diagram collect information?

The editorial images and diagrams are served as static assets. There are no embedded maps, social widgets, advertising pixels or video players on these pages. Fonts are served from this website.
